A year and a few months after being diagnosed with cancer and having to cut my visit with my family short to return home for treatment, I have returned to the north of Scotland to complete my visit. I feel healthy. Wiser. More appreciative of every moment and my loved ones. Still angry about cancer and how many people it kills and touches every day. There are some out there who say they are grateful for having cancer as it changed their lives; I’m definitely not one of those people. However, I am grateful that I am alive, that I am able to return to this lovely place and appreciate it again. I am one of the lucky ones. I remember how I felt the last time how I was here, how I thought I might die before I could return, how sad I was and yet how I was still able to laugh with my friends and family.
Life is precious. Like Steve Jobs said, live every day as if it were your last.
